The owners wanted a place to relax and their favorite color is purple. The centerpiece is a flagstone patio shaded by an arbor. It is surrounded with purple flowering perennials and japanese maples.
The flagstone had been torn out of a nearby residence as part of a renovation and was used at this site. The redwood table is made from wood salvaged from an old barn.

We replaced a backyard lawn with drought tolerant and native plants that attract beneficial wildlife. The decompossed granite path is a porous surface that passes rain water back into the soil. The automatic drip irrigation in combination with mulch reduces water evaporation and cuts down on weeds and water bills. Three months later, Ms. Reynolds says "I'm very glad you removed my lawn. I love the new look in my backyard."

“Joe Monte put in a flagstone patio for me. His work was excellent. Joe understood exactly what needed to be done in order to create a patio that is beautiful and functional. It has remained solid and level in spite of the winter
rains and cold and gophers. Joe first dug out the shape of the patio, then he spread gravel, then he used a machine to tamp down the gravel, then he spread sand in which he placed the flagstones. Placing the flagstones was like doing a big jig-saw puzzle and Joe put all the pieces together perfectly. Joe is a hard and an efficient worker. I would recommend him for any landscaping project"
